Project overview
BHD is a rare genetic condition caused by a mutation in the folliculin gene. The BHD Foundation was formed in 2011 to support, inform and connect the BHD community worldwide. The charity approached tictoc to help them create a strong online presence to help them engage with their community. The project also entailed the creation of a new brand identity as the charity's previous brand style and logo was dated.

Our agile approach

We began by conducting discovery workshops with BHD’s team to clarify their target audiences, project objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and overarching strategy. With this information in hand, we moved into the creative phase, developing logo concepts and shaping the visual design for the website.
The site was developed in ‘sprints’, with new features being designed, built, and tested each week. This process kept the client actively engaged throughout, allowing for ongoing feedback and adjustments. By working in iterations, we ensured the project remained flexible and fully aligned with BHD’s vision.
Smooth project management
From the very beginning, our dedicated Project Manager ensured seamless and effective communication. Regular weekly meetings, along with daily check-ins, kept the entire team in sync and up to date on the project’s progress. We provided consistent updates to keep everything transparent and avoid any unexpected surprises. An escalation process was also put in place to manage any potential issues; however, thanks to the well-coordinated efforts of the team, no significant challenges emerged.
The end result
The BHD brand identity and logo was specifically created to be clinical and clean, focusing on ‘people’ with the final icon. The completed website is an engaging, user-friendly platform designed for a charity, offering easy navigation and comprehensive information. It is fully accessible and simple to manage, with key features including integrated on-site donations, a specialist directory with an interactive map, and event booking capabilities. The design is clean, professional, and welcoming, providing visitors with an intuitive and seamless experience. Both the client and target audiences have responded positively, praising the website’s functionality and overall user experience.
