Project overview

Glasgow Riverside Innovation District (GRID), an area encompassing 700 acres on the northern and southern sides of the River Clyde in Glasgow, is an ambitious partnership between the University of Glasgow, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprise to accelerate an inclusive approach to innovation. As a new organisation they required an information focused website to educate and engage their wide and varied audiences.

What we delivered

Here’s how we brought Invest Glasgow’s vision to life:

  • Content strategy – informed by research & discussion
  • Digital design - creating an extension of their brand guidelines to design an effective digital look and feel
  • Responsive & accessible website development
  • Pre-Launch search engine optimisation
  • Hosting & ongoing support

Our agile approach

Our approach to projects is guided by agile principles, allowing us to work in adaptable, iterative stages. Instead of delivering everything at once, we engage with our clients throughout the process, ensuring steady progress and the ability to pivot when needed.

For the GRID team, we kicked things off with in-depth research sessions to clearly define key aspects such as target audiences, objectives, and overall project direction. With this foundation, we entered the creative phase, expanding their brand guidelines to establish the website’s design. Each week, we developed, tested, and refined new elements, giving the client full visibility and the chance to provide feedback, ensuring the project evolved in line with their vision.

Quality assurance

Excellence drives every aspect of our work. During development, we gave the GRID team access to an interactive prototype, enabling them to test, evaluate, and provide input at various stages. Before the official launch, we carried out thorough assessments to guarantee the website adhered to high industry benchmarks for accessibility, security, and SEO optimisation.

The end result

The finished website is a visually engaging platform, packed with dynamic content including videos, imagery, icons, and detailed information. A key objective was to design a site that would grow alongside GRID, allowing the organisation to easily update and expand content as they evolve. We built this flexibility into both the interface and the Content Management System (CMS). Visitors can explore an interactive map of GRID’s location, discover what life and work are like in the area, and access comprehensive information and statistics.
